Today was RISEX, the one day community orientated show of the Risborough and District Model Railway Club. I was lucky enough to be asked to carry out a 4mm demonstration and have spent today weathering mineral wagons and buildings for Kirkmellington. The show appears to have been a success with good patronage, great cakes and a good selection of layouts and trade.
I have also started a new page on this blog for the buildings of Kirkmellington. The debut goes to the new engine shed, built from Wills corrogated sheet sides, individual corrogated styrene sheet roof panels by Bucknell Senior under subcontract. I have weathered it today and am looking forward to planting it on the layout.
Dissapointing that theres no evidence of children who have been weathered as 16 tonners in a model railway take on face painting. And wheres the power tools!
The children were the best audience, especially the one who said i was ‘very clever’ and the two who wanted to buy the engine shed. Bucknell senior is very keen to sell!
Capitalist!
