Wheeltapper competition

23 Mar

Friday 22nd March was the Wheeltapper night at the Risborough And District MRC. Wheeltapper night is a chance to show off your models and listen to a talk. The competition covers all angles of the hobby, steam, diesel, coaches, wagons, non railway and scenery \ structures. Having only just joined the club in 2012, this was my first opportunity to enter some of my models.

The evenings talk is by a prominent modeller and this year its was Bob Alderman, from Missenden Railway Modellers  who gave a talk on the A1 Steam loco trust, builders & owners of A1 pacific 60163 Tornado. Bob Alderman also judged the competition entries.

I was somewhat amazed to win the best non railway item – THE ROBBIE ROBINSON AWARD for my Detailed & repainted Corgi RB19 crawler craneImage

The unexpecetd was then further compounded when my 24/1 converion won the overall ‘Wheeltapper’ trophy. In good old Rochdale tradition, as the winner, a round was bought for the rest of the club!
