Turf accountant

18 Dec

Attention and skill building is now turning to all matters green. Well grass to be precise. I have been busy in the garage this week, ballasting is just about done so now to fill the bare parts with grass, shrubs and the wasteland Flora two typical of Ayrshires collieries.

i am trying a few different things on Kirkmellington. First layer is textured paint from Green Scene. Onto this is a base layer of flock and woodland Scenics fine turf. I then aim to add static grass once any obstacles such as fence posts are added. I have never used the static grass system so am looking forward to this over the Xmas break Which should improve the currently lacklustre appearance of the grass.

the pond and roadways have been painted, again using GreenScene textured paints with some real ash (sieved from a BBQ) added. Culvert headwalls need painting and then reeds and bushes fixing before I can add some water. I have one Deluxe Materials scenic water to trial and will add details when completed.
