Austere Peckett

15 Jan

The opportunity to test run and see some new locos destined eventually for Kirkmellington was taken during the hour before opening at Stevenage.

Our Peckett, Dodo, looks and runs really nicely and looked very much at home shunting the yard.

Also showcased was my DJM J94/ Austerity, the RMWeb limited edition in custard yellow. It’s recommended to use sunglasses until weathering is complete but again, it runs well and looks good.

Finally, my kit built Barclay was handed over by its builder and very kindly given a run by the team on Black Country Blues, probably the best D&E layout on the circuit at present. I don’t have any proof that an NCB 0-6-0 ever worked down a secondary line in the West Midlands but it certainly looked and sounded good to me! A big thanks to the BCB team for the favour.
